Stockton Planetarium

Hi,
Brian Blakely sent me an interesting events guide for the Stockton Planetarium and Observatory. Unfortunately it was too large to include in the newsletter but for those of you interested in astronomy you can find it on the web. Just point your browser at http://www.wynyard-planetarium.net/downloads/eventguide.pdf to see what is going on. I must say I was surprised that we have such a facility right on our doorstep and with those long winter evenings coming up it is perfect timing. Thanks Brian.

Invitation accepted

Rick: Thanks for setting up this blog for South Durham. I'm sure members will find it very easy to use. I certainly did not have any trouble getting this far - and I am no quick learner. So would encourage anyone else to have a go. Even spotted the "Preview" button to check this before clicking on Publish Post box - to see what happens then. It worked, I think.

How To Become A Member

I hope that many of you will want to join our new blog and publish your own posts or comment on the posts published by other members.
If you are a South Durham U3A member and would like to join the blog just send an email to the email address for contributions, which you will find on the last page of the newsletter, and I will arrange for you to receive an invitation. When you have your invitation click on the link and follow the instructions. If you do not already have a Google account you will need to create one but you can use your existing email address to do this (it does not have to be a googlemail address).
It's as simple as that and takes only a matter of minutes. You will then be able to post and comment to your heart's content. It's great fun and you don't need to be a computer whizz to do it.
This is a great opportunity for our U3A to become more interactive and I hope you will take full advantage of it.
